English Writing
Why is Writing important?
Writing and communication are key life skills. Our writing curriculum, enables the children to develop the skills and knowledge which will enable them to communicate effectively and creatively through written language and equip them with the skills to become lifelong learners. To do this we use the 'Pathways to Wrire' scheme.
Units of work are delivered using high quality texts, and children in all year groups are given varied opportunities for writing. The units of work are adapted by our teachers for bespoke delivery to their classes based on the needs of the class. Skills are built uo through repetition within the units and children apply these skills in the writing activities provided. Many opportunites for widening the children's vocabulary are given through the 'Pathways to Write' approach.
